Former Nigeria international and ex-Arsenal star Nwankwo Kanu rolled bagged the years as he scored a hat-trick as Arsenal Legends defeated AC Milan Legends 4-2 in a charity game played at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Robert Pires got the Arsenal Legends’ other goal, while Christian Vieri scored AC Milan Legends’ two goals.
Kanu, who once famously scored a hat-trick as Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea, had vowed before Saturday’s charity match that he would score thrice.
And he fulfilled his promise.
Kanu opened the scoring for the Arsenal Legends in the 27th minute but Vieri equalised for the AC Milan Legends six minutes to the end of the first half.
In the 72nd minute, Arsenal went 2-1 up as Kanu scored his second goal.
And in the 81st minute, Kanu completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot to give Arsenal a 3-1 lead.
With four minutes left, Pires got on the score sheet to make it 4-1.
And in the 89th minute, Vieri halved the deficit to end the game 4-2.
